Pine Grove Mining district

Walker River

Coming up out of the river trail we ran into the start of the herd going down to the river

Bill didn’t see any horns so he thought he’d try his hand at herding. Mojave Desert cattle spook easily and scatter quickly. These guys knew the hardpack road was easier to hike on then the sand wash, so they really didn’t want to move over too much.

The real cowboys at the end. There was a cowgirl in the middle of this herd and I’d guess the ‘cattle train’ was about a ˝ mile long.
